Early Childhood Special Education Position

Germantown Elementary School District #60 in Germantown, IL, has a part time early childhood special education vacancy for the 2014-15 school year. While the teaching position is only part time, we also have an assistant position we could marry with the teaching position to make it more like full time employment. Selected AMC Theaters are Sensory Friendly

Certain AMC Theaters in St. Louis county hold ‘Sensory Friendly Films’ especially for children of attributes of autism or sensory needs.  The lights are left on, the sound level is lowered and children are encouraged to move about, dance , etc.  If you frequent or know about a specific AMC or other theater, please add the location and name here.

Congratulations MA in Early Interventions Graduates!

Beginning in Fall 2011, eleven candidates enrolled in the first classes in Lindenwood University Master of Arts in Education with emphasis in Early Interventions in Autism and Sensory Impairments program.  Out of the original eleven, eight complete their degree by December of this year.  We are very proud to share this photo of our May graduates.

J.C.’s Functional Skill Assignment

As the culminating project of the Methods of Teaching Students with Exceptionalities in Cross-Categorical Settings class, students were assigned to design and teach a functional skill in an assigned classroom under the supervision of a special education teacher. I selected one of many student work samples that were worthy of publishing here. You will notice that I changed identifying information to protect the privacy of the student.
